A simochart is a graphical representation of simultaneous and succesive events. (SImultaneous Motions). It allows to :
- check and predict the time of cycles and the rate of production.
- define, "just in time", the quantity and the type of resources (robots, operators, etc.) depending on the desired rate. Therefore, the simochart has the same utility as traditionnal schedules (such as Gantt or Pert) that allow then also, to adjust the resources based on the duration.
However, a simochar can go further in the calculation of cycle times, optimize the production and thereby increase the productivity.
However, the charts are often made on paper and it takes a lot of time.
More and more, these simocharts are effected through software such as spreadsheets or planning software .
Problem : these softwares are not designed for that and finds itself limited.
